We spent a day in Huntsville, Alabama as our first big stop on our 2.5 week Road Trip. Our main point of interest at this stop was the US Space and Rocket Center and we also enjoyed some delicious local eats.
As always, this is our version of a trip. All depictions and information is solely based on our experience. I hope you use this as a reference for your next amazing adventure!!!
Here’s how we spent the day in Huntsville…3.2.1…BLAST OFF!!!!
Breakfast for the Crew

We started the day off with a hearty breakfast at a local diner. The City Diner is a local staple and offers a huge variety of menu items and what looks to be some amazing cakes too!

They had a great kids menu and the portions were huge! Not only did we all love our meals, but the service was good and they were extremely quick with our meals. I think it’s safe to say that Nolan enjoyed his chocolate chip pancakes!

Blast Off!!!
Our next stop was to the US Space and Rocket Center and it has become one of our favorite stops in Alabama!

Class is in Session
We found a great spot for dinner at CAMPUS No. 805. The multi-functional converted 1950’s brick school houses a few breweries, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment too!

We tried out Hops’n Guac for a festive vibe. They had good music, tons of beer and wine selections, and great food. They had a small, rather lackluster kids menu, BUT, what kid doesn’t like a delicious taco?

Places to Stay
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn/ Space Center and it was a decent stay. The facilities were adequate, but a bit dated, and older.
But the location was perfect!
